Certified Directors of Christian Outreach in the LCMS as well as other non-certified professionally prepared graduates for Christian outreach work in varied locations and outreach ministries. Congregational Ministry with an Outreach Focus

Congregational Cross-cultural Outreach (CCO) Ministry in the U.S.
Prepared through: Outreach Major - Parish/Cross-Cultural Track or Outreach Minor Serve in contexts such as:

  • Native American

  • Eas and West African
  • Laotian
  • Hispanic Ministries 

Non-congregational Outreach Ministry

  • District and Synodical Positions 

Cross-cultural Outreach (CCO) Ministry Overseas
Prepared through: Outreach Major - Parish/Cross-Cultural Track or Outreach Minor Serve in contexts such as:

  • Board for Mission Services - LCMS
  • Volunteer Youth Ministry - LCMS
  • Volunteer Missionary Service - LCMS
  • World Mission Prayer League
  • Other Mission Societies 

Cross-cultural Ministry in Bible Translation or Literacy Work
Prepared through: Outreach Major - Bible Translation/Literacy Track or Bible Translation Minor  Serve in contexts such as:

  • Lutheran Bible Translators
  • World Mission Prayer League
  • Wycliffe Bible Translators 

OHSCO offers an outreach emphasis for students pursuing other church professional careers:

  • Pre-seminary students

OHSCO also promotes and encourages students pursuing liberal arts degrees to prepare themselves for outreach opportunities by taking outreach courses as part of their formal education.
