1.       What’s the workshop about?

The workshop will focus on: Knowing and sharing the mission of God and the formation of spiritual leadership within the lives of Christ’s disciples

 

2.       Who should attend?

The three day workshop is for all those who have a passion for sharing the Gospel and reaching out cross-culturally and for helping others to do the same.

 

3.       Where is the workshop held?

The Workshop on Missional Leadership will be held on the Concordia University-St. Paul campus.

 

4.       How much does it cost and what is included?

The cost for the Workshop for Missional Leadership is $200.  It includes all workshop materials; lectures and meals.  Lodging is a separate cost at $40 the 1st night and $30 the 2nd night if you decide to stay on campus. 

 

5.       What should I bring?

It is suggested you bring your Bible and a notebook or your laptop.

6.       How do I get there?

Concordia St. Paul is located just minutes from the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport and Amtrak.  The following link will provide you various transportation options including driving directions:  http://www.csp.edu/AboutUs/directions.html

 

7.       What about meals?

All meals are included (breakfast, lunch and dinner and mid-morning and afternoon snacks) from Thursday through Saturday.

 

8.       What about workshop materials?

All workshop materials will be provided at the workshop.

 

9.       What should I wear?

Casual attire is acceptable (including shorts). The classrooms and the Residence Life Center are air-conditioned.

 

10.   Where can I stay and how much will it cost?

You can stay on campus at the new Residence Life Center (RLC), brand new with hotel-style accommodation.   Each room is similar to an apartment setting with2-4 separate and private bedrooms (these 2-4 rooms share 2 bathrooms) with a central sitting area with TV and kitchen with refrigerator; microwave; coffee maker, dishwasher and utensils. Cost is $40 for the 1st night and $30 for each additional night. If you chose to make other housing arrangements off campus here are some other options:  http://www.csp.edu/AboutUs/lodging.html

 

11.   What will he weather be like?

12.   How do I get there from the airport?

The options are rental car, taxi or shuttle service.  We do not promote any of these; however, Super Shuttle offers a service of approximately $21 round trip.  Their website is:  www.supershuttle.com

15.   Where do I park?

There is on-street parking and on-campus parking available.  Please contact Melanie Vasterling at OHSCO vaslterling@csp.edu if you have any special needs requests.

 

16.   How do I get keys to my room?

If you are staying on campus, just go to the Residence Life Center as there is someone on site 24 hours a day.

 

17.   How do I pay for the workshop?

18.   How do I pay for my room?

You can pay for your room on the website Workshop on Missional Leaders when you register. If you need to make arrangements other than what is provided on the website please contact Melanie Vasterling at vasterling@csp.edu.

 

19.   Is there Wifi access?

Yes there is Wifi access throughout the campus including the classroom and Residence Life Center.

 

20.   I am interested in the Master of Arts in Christian Outreach (MACO) option, what do I need to know?

There is an informational meeting on Wednesday 22 July 2009.  MACO professors, staff and current and graduated students as well as Admissions Counselors will be available for this session.  It is INCLUDED (meals as well) in your workshop cost; however, you may need an additional night for a room at $40 for the 1st night and $30 for each remaining night.

Attending the Missional workshop will satisfy some requirements for a course completion.  You will be expected to pay graduate level fees. 

Since MACO is an accredited graduate program of Concordia University, you would need a bachelor’s degree from and accredited university.

21.   Can I take this Workshop for college credit and not enter the MACO program?

Yes, you can receive 3 ‘transcripted’ semester credit hours for this workshop.  You would need to perform some additional coursework to earn this credit.  

Attending the Missional workshop will satisfy some requirements for a course completion. Additional graduate level tuition fees will be assessed.
