Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 5th year. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page.

AES Engineers

The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible the student needs to answer one of the essay questions that they will find on the scholarship webpage.

Affinity Plus Foundation Academic Scholarship Program

The Affinity Plus Foundation was chartered in 2000 to promote literacy and money management skills to people throughout Minnesota. Its mission is to help people better the quality of their lives and acheive financial literacy through the funding of sound personal financial education, understanding, and management programs. Since its formation, the Foundation has made significant strides toward that goal by funding and supporting a variety of programs and providing $25,000 each year in educational scholarships to deserving students. A total of five $5,000 scholarships will be awarded between four seperate divisions: Freshmen, Upperclassmen, Nontraditional students, and Masters/Doctoral. Applicants must be individual members of Affinity Plus. Applications are available in the Financial Aid office.

Anna M. Kuhl Scholarship

The Anna M. Kuhl Scholarship Fund will award scholarships to students of strong character and integrity, who reside in St. Paul or nearby communities. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship the student must be:

  • A long term resident of St. Paul or a nearby community and have resided in an eligible community for the past year.
  • Enrolled or plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study.
  • Deadline: March 2012

Audrey Erskine Scholarship

Applicants for the Audrey Erskine Scholarship must be:

  • Pursuing a course of study to become a teacher at the preschool, elementry, or secondary level.
  • A current member of Education Minnesota Student Program.
  • Currently a student in their Junior or Senior year of college.
  • Amount of Award: $350 to $500
  • Deadline: June 2012

B. Davis Scholarship

  • This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.
  • There is no age restriction

BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.

Boren Scholarship

Boren Scholarships allow U.S. undergraduate students to study less commomly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests but underepresented in study abroad.

Capstone

Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is accepting college scholarship applications. The Capstone Community Scholarship Program offers up to eight scholarship awards in the amount of $2,500 each to qualified applicants.

Among the eligibility requirements includes a full-time status as an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university in Minnesota or Illinois. Students majoring in the following areas of study, who also meet additional requirements, are invited to apply:

Great Lakes STEM Scholarships

Students majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) disciplines, may be eligible to receive $2,500 scholarships under the new Great Lakes National Scholarship Program. Up to 750 scholarships totaling $1.875 million will be awarded to new and continuing students who qualify.

To be eligible, a student must:

  • Be enrolled full-time with a major in a STEM discipline at a public or private two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Deadline: Scholarship applications will be accepted through May 11, 2012, or until 20,000 applications have been received. Finalists will be notified by June 1, 2012.

Hispanic College Fund Scholarship

The Hispanic College Fund scholarship program is now accepting applications! The program is open to students of Hispanic background majoring in business, finance, accounting, computer science, computer engineering, IT, hospitality management, hotel management, culinary, food & beverage, and many more! Scholarships awards are up to $10,000.

IME/LEDC Latino Scholarship Fund

Latino entrepreneurs, community leaders, local foundations, and local businessess have come together to develop a scholarship fund aimed at supporting talented, aspiring Latino students who would like to build their futures through higher education. At least one scholarship award of $3,000 is available. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship the student must be:

  • A student from Mexico in their first year of study at any MN institution of post-secondary education.
  • Deadline: March 2012

The award will be based on academic performance (minimum of 3.0 GPA), financial need, educational goals, and leadership in the Latino community. To find an application or for questions, please visit the Financial Aid Office.

iModules Scholarship

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship Lutheran Community Foundation

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship honors excellence by supporting outstanding community college students with financial need to transfer to and complete their bachelor’s degrees at the nation’s top four-year colleges and universities.

Lutheran Community Foundation

The Lutheran Community Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of scholarship awards from The Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Minneapolis Scholarship Program. Candidates for the scholarship awards must be members of a congregation in the Minnesota South District of the LCMS. Applicants must also meet the following qualifications:

  • Candidates must be in their third or fourth year of full-time study at an undergraduate university of the LCMS, or enrolled in a full time post-baccalaureate program at an LCMS university.
  • Candidates must be pursuing a career in professional ministry or lay ministry.
  • Deadline: June 2012

Lutheran Women's Missionary League

The South Wisconsin District LWML has scholarships available for women preparing for church work in the LCMS. The number and amount of scholarships varies from year to year depending on funds available for that year. To be eligible to apply, the student must be:

  • An active female member of a congregation of the South Wisconsin District of the LCMS and a resident of the SWD prior to college.
  • Preparing for full-time service in the LCMS.
  • Enrolled as an undergraduate student.
  • Deadline: April 2012

Miller Birthplace Society Scholarship

Clarinda's Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is offering scholarships of $4,500, $2,000 & $1,000 to instrumentalists. The vocal scholarships will also be $4,500, $2,500, and $1,000. These scholarships, which are awarded without regard to any other award, may be used for any education-related expense.

It is not the purpose of this competition to select Glenn Miller look-alikes or sound-alikes, nor is it limited to pop music performance. Rather, in honoring Glenn, we wish to seek out and assist promising young talents in any field of applied music who may be musical leaders tomorrow.

Minnesota Heart Research Scholarships

The American Heart Association is working with partners to provide scholarships that allow students to explore the field of cardiovascular research as a career by providing opportunities to work with researchers at Minnesota institutions during June, July and August of 2012.

- Minnesota students only. One scholarship is for undergraduates.
- The scholars will be chosen on merit by an American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate committee of medical professionals and lay people.

Missouri District of the Lutheran Laymen's League

Students from LCMS Congregations in the Missouri District who are pursuing degrees from synodical schools and who are intending to become full time church workers may be eligible for financial assistance from the Missouri District LLL

My Recipe- My Heritage Scholarship Essay Contest

Both US citizens and foreign students currently attending a US college, university, or another institution of higher education are eligible to participate. The essay should explore the place culinary traditions hold in one's cultural/ethnic identity. The essay should include a favorite recipe that is of great personal significance. Essays may feature actual or fictional events, as long as both are historically accurate. Essays should display good knowledge and familiarity with one?s heritage.

  • Amount of Award: $1500, $750, and $500
  • Deadline: The contest will be closed for additional entries once the first 200 essays are received. Winners will be announced within 8 weeks after the last entry has been submitted.

North Suburban Communications Commission

The NSCC has a minimum of $30,000 worth of scholarships available for Communications students. Students living in the ten-city area that have completed at least one year of college or vocational program are encouraged to apply. RARE Educational Scholarship

The Robbinsdale Association of Retired Educators, RARE, announces a one year scholarship for persons pursuing a career in education. The amount of the scholarship(s) will depend upon the yearly donations from retired educators. In 2011, five (5) $1000.00 scholarships were awarded. Eligible recepients should fit into at least one of the following categories:

  • An individual who has already completed at least two years of college by September 2012 with plans to become a teacher.
  • An individual who wishes to make a career change within education.
  • A teacher wishing to change teaching fields.

The mission of the NRC Research Associateship Programs (RAP) is to promote excellence in scientific and technological research conducted by the U. U.S. Bank Scholarships

U.S. Bank has 40 $1,000 scholarships available to high school seniors and college undergraduate students. Recepients will be determined randomly. To be eligible for a scholarship, the student must be:

  • A high school senior planning to enroll or a current college freshmen, sophomore, or junior at an eligible four-year college or univeristy.
  • Enrolled by September 2012
  • A United States citizen or permanent resident alien.

Vincent L. Hawkinson Foundation Scholarship

The Vincent L. Hawkinson Foundation is looking for students who demonstrate a commitment to peace and justice through one or more of these ways: a specific project, leadership in a peace/justice oranization, a courageous demonstration of commitment, or serving as a role model for others. The available scholarships for the Fall semester of 2012 are as follows:
