Admitted First-Year Students: Next Steps

  • Part One: Apply for Financial Aid

    To apply for financial aid at CSP, complete the FAFSA application (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and choose Concordia St. Paul using the code 002347.

    Part Two: Accept/Decline Your Financial Aid

    Once received your CSP Financial Aid Award Letter (via email), your next step is to accept or decline your CSP financial aid award letter:

  • Admitted first-year students are required to submit a $200 enrollment deposit to reserve their place in the entering class as well as start the class registration process. The deposit is applied to your first-semester tuition at Concordia and is not a separate fee.

    The deposit is non-refundable after May 1 for Fall starts and December 1 for Spring starts.

     

  • Your CSP Network Account (CSP Email & Student Portal) will be created approximately one week after you are admitted. At that time, you will be emailed information to help you get access your accounts.

    CSP’s Student portal is used for class registration, completing Financial Aid steps, and much more! You will need the following credentials to get started (refer to your personal email, subject line: CSP Network Account Information for this information):

    • Your username
    • Your CSP ID number
    • Your 18-digit temporary password, this is a combination of the following components, in this exact order:
      • The last four digits of your CSP ID number
      • Your four-digit birth year
      • #Concordia
      • For Example: if your ID number was L00001234 and your birth year was 2000, your temporary password would be: 12342000#Concordia

    Login using the same username and password used above for your CSP student portal.

  • First-year students will submit a registration form to get registered for classes. Our Academic Advising team will utilize this form to assist with registering first-year students for classes.

    After the form is submitted, our Academic Advising team will reach out and provide you the steps and classes to register for, based off your degree plan.

  • Living On Campus

    • To receive a housing assignment or to join one of CSP’s Living Learning Communities (LLC) for the 2023-2024 academic year, please submit the housing application AND the $200 enrollment deposit. Your housing assignment will not be processed until you’ve submitted the $200 enrollment deposit.

    2023-2024 HOUSING APPLICATION (CSP application login required)

    If you have multiple CSP applications, please choose the 2023-2024 undergraduate application. You must be admitted to CSP for Fall 2023 to access the form.

    Commuter Students

    • Learn about all of the resources available to you as part of our thriving commuter community! Interested in being matched with a Commuter Connector? This is a way to connect with a sophomore or junior commuter student through monthly check-ins and campus events. Sign up to be connected!
    • Please note that this is a first-come, first-served program but we will do our best to accommodate all interested students.

     

    Housing Accommodations

    • Students requiring any accommodations should complete the housing accommodation form and contact Student Accessibility Services at [email protected] as soon as possible when applying for housing.
    • The deadline for accommodation requests is May 1 for fall term and November 15 for spring term.
  • As an admitted student, you are invited to a series of events to help you transition to CSP! Admitted Student Day is required for all admitted traditional students.

  • Review this important information at your own pace before classes begin.  Once you complete it, you can refer back to it anytime.

  • Minnesota State law requires proof of immunization. You will not be allowed to enroll until the online form has been submitted.

    Please note: Immunizations submitted in any format other than the online form cannot be accepted

  • Upon high school graduation, please ensure your final official transcript is sent to Concordia to complete your admission file. Your final transcript should confirm that you have graduated, reflect your final GPA, and include your graduation date.

    • If you have completed any college level credits during high school or AP exams, please also send those official transcripts or test scores to ensure that credit is received.
    • To be considered an official document, transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the institution or through secured electronic delivery to [email protected].

    Please include the following in your email:

    • Your intended major
    • Three specific appointment day/time preferences (office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
    • Your appointment type preference (phone call, Zoom, or in-person)

     

    Course Registration Tools

    • Your Degree Audit* will allow you to view your current degree plan, how your credits transferred in, and courses to register for. Your degree audit will be accurately updated two weeks after you have been admitted to CSP.

  • Living On Campus

    • Transfer students (students with college credits post-high school) are not required to live on campus. If you would like to live on campus during the 2023-2024 academic year, please submit the housing application.
    • View the Residence Life website to learn more about Holst Hall, CSP’s transfer and upperclassman housing option.

  • We know that most of you are new to CSP, and as you prepare for your first day of class, you may be wondering how you will navigate around campus. We want to help!

    To view your class schedule:

    1. Login to CSPConnect
    2. Go to the Registration Card
    3. Click on View Student Schedule by Term
    4. Select current term

  • To order your books for your first semester:

    1. Go to the CSP Bookstore website
    2. Using your class schedule*, enter in the department code, course #, and section
    3. Click on “Find Materials”
    4. From here, the required course materials for each of your courses will populate

    3. Click on View Student Schedule by Term
    4. Select current term

     

    Please note: You can rent or purchase textbooks from other sites as long as it is the correct title and edition. CSP will also price match any lower rates found at Amazon, bn.com and local competitors. Contact the bookstore with any questions – (651) 603-6310.

  • Each incoming student must submit a photo to Card Services to be used for their CSP ID.

    ID cards will be available for pickup at Card Services (Meyer Hall 124) during the first week of classes.

  • If you plan to park on campus or commute to your classes, you must register any vehicles with CSP Security.

    To register your vehicle(s) online please go to our parking permit registration site.

    Ensure you have the following information available:

    • Your name, phone number and address
    • Your student ID number
    • Your vehicle make, model, VIN number and license plate

    Once you register online, you can pickup your permit from our CSP Security office (Meyer Hall 124) during the first week of classes.

  • All incoming students receive a math placement score determined by your ACT test results. Students who did not submit test scores due to our test-optional admissions policy must complete our Math Placement Exam.

    Students hoping to change the math placement score determined by their ACT may also take the Math Placement Exam.

  • Concordia participates in the College Pass program (reduced bus pass rate) through the Twin Cities Metro Transit.

    Bus passes cost $165 per semester and is valid for these terms:

    • Fall: August 15 – December 31
    • Spring: January 1 – May 31
    • Summer Semester: June 1 – Aug. 14 ($85 for shorter semester)

    Information about College Pass

  • Concordia is one of the first universities to partner with Microsoft to license Microsoft Office for all students. This software will be available at no cost to students and the license allows installation on up to five devices owned by the student.  Sign up here!
