Admitted First-Year Students: Next Steps

  • Step One: Apply for Financial Aid

    To apply for financial aid at CSP, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and choose Concordia St. Paul using the code 002347.

    Additionally, be sure to check out Scholarship Universe! This is a free tool available to all admitted CSP students to easily apply for multiple scholarship opportunities through a personalized portal. *CSP Network Account needed for login

    Step Two: Review and Finalize Your Aid

    Once you have submitted your FAFSA and received your Financial Aid Award Letter (via email), learn about what comes next.

  • Admitted first-year students are required to submit a $200 enrollment deposit to reserve their place in the entering class as well as start the class registration process. The deposit is applied to your first semester tuition at Concordia and is not a separate fee.

    • or mail a check to Concordia University, Office of Admissions

    Due to COVID-19 the refundable deposit deadline has been extended from May 1 to June 1 for Fall 2020 enrollment. If you are unable to pay the $200 deposit at this time, but still plan to attend CSP, please contact your admissions counselor to discuss alternative arrangements.

    The Spring 2021 deposit deadline is December 1, 2020.

  • Your CSP Network Account will be created approximately one week after you are admitted. At that time, you will be emailed more information to help you get started (subject line: CSP Network Account Information).

    Your network account allows you access to Blackboard (our learning portal) and your CSP email (Gmail) and will be used throughout your time as a Golden Bear.

    Follow our step-by-step tutorial to set up your network account:

  • The class registration form is used to determine your fall semester class schedule.

    Your class schedule will be emailed to you by your academic advisor within two weeks of submission of both the registration form and the $200 enrollment deposit.

  • Students Living On Campus

    To be placed in an on campus residence hall, please complete and submit the housing application.  First-year students must also submit the $200 enrollment deposit in order to be granted a housing assignment.  The housing application will not be processed without payment.

    Students Living Off Campus

    First-year students are required to live on campus unless living at home with a parent or guardian.  If you meet this criteria you must submit the Petition to Live Off Campus in lieu of the housing application.

    Students Requiring Housing Accommodations

    Students requiring any accommodations should complete the housing accommodation form and contact Student Accessibility Services at sas@csp.edu as soon as possible when applying for housing.

    The deadline for accommodation requests is June 1 for fall term and December 1 for spring term.

  • As an incoming student, there are two ways you will finalize your enrollment to CSP:

    1. Participate in a Virtual Admitted Student Day event

    • Virtual Admitted Student Day will be held on June 19, July 17 and August 21
    • Register Now for the date that is best for you

    2. Complete our Online Orientation

    • Review this important information at your own pace before classes begin.  Once you complete it, you can refer back to it anytime.

      *Login to the orientation using your full CSP email address and password
  • Minnesota State law requires proof of immunization. You will not be allowed to enroll until the online form has been submitted.

    Please note: Immunizations submitted in any format other than the online form cannot be accepted

  • Upon high school graduation, please ensure your final official transcript is sent to Concordia to complete your admission file. Your final transcript should confirm that you have graduated, reflect your final GPA, and include your graduation date.

    If you have completed any college level credits during high school or AP exams, please also send those official transcripts or test scores to ensure that credit is received.

    To be considered an official document, transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the institution or through secured electronic delivery to admissions@csp.edu.

Admitted Transfer Students: Next Steps

    2. Three specific appointment day/time preferences (office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm)

    Your Degree Audit* will allow you to view your current degree plan, how your credits transferred in, and courses to register for. Your degree audit will be accurately updated two weeks after you have been admitted to CSP.

Get Ready for Welcome Weekend!

Welcome Weekend is our exciting kick-off to the new academic year! Move-in Day will take place on Wednesday, September 2 and Welcome Weekend begins on Thursday, September 3.

Additional Information: Review and act upon as necessary

  • Each incoming student must submit a photo to Card Services to be used for their CSP ID.

    Submit your photo by emailing it as an attachment to cardservices@csp.edu. More details can be found on their website.

    All photos should meet the following requirements:

    • Emailed from your CSP email address
    • Color photo, 300 x 400 pixels
    • Minimum size of 15KB, but less than 1MB
    • File type must be Jpeg
    • Photo file is named using your Student ID (L) Number (ex. L00897634)
    • Subject must be looking straight at the camera, against a light colored, and solid background.
    • Photos cannot include: hats or sunglasses, derogatory subject matter
    • Photos should not be group photos, or cropped down from a group photo

    Please submit your photo to Card Services by Friday, August 14, 2020.  ID cards will be available for pickup during Welcome Weekend.

  • All incoming students receive a math placement score determined by your ACT test results. Students who did not submit test scores due to our test-optional admissions policy must complete our Math Placement Exam.

    Students hoping to change the math placement score determined by their ACT may also take the Math Placement Exam.

    To Access the Math Placement Exam:

    1. Login to Blackboard
    2. Select “Courses” on the left hand side
    3. Click on the Math Placement Exam course
    4. Review the practice materials
    5. Begin the exam when you’re ready

  • If you plan to park on campus or commute to your classes, you must register any vehicles with CSP Security.

    To register your vehicle(s) online please go to our parking permit registration site.

    Ensure you have the following information available:

    • Your name, phone number and address
    • Your student ID number
    • Your vehicle make, model, VIN number and license plate

    Once you register online, you can pickup your permit from our CSP Security office (Meyer Hall 124) during the first week of classes.

  • Concordia participates in the College Pass program through the Twin Cities Metro Transit.

    Bus passes cost $165 per semester and are valid for use on the following dates:

    • Fall semester: August 15 – December 31
    • Spring semester: January 1 – May 31
    • Summer: June 1 – August 14

    Passes can be purchased at our cashier window on campus once they become available.  Fall semester passes will be available for purchase in August 2019.

  • Concordia is one of the first universities to partner with Microsoft to license Microsoft Office for all students. This software will be available at no cost to students and the license allows installation on up to five devices owned by the student.  Learn more here!
