By your admission to Concordia you have completed the first step in ensuring an education that will allow you to grow as an individual in mind, body and spirit.

Admitted First-Year Students: Next Steps

To finalize your enrollment as an incoming first-year student, please complete the items below.

1. Apply for Financial Aid

To apply for financial aid at CSP, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and choose Concordia St. Paul using the code 002347.

  • Spring 2020 Applicants: Complete the FAFSA for 2019-20
    • You will receive your financial aid award package approximately two weeks after submitting the FAFSA.
  • Fall 2020 Applicants: Complete the FAFSA for 2020-21 (Available October 1, 2019)
    • Financial aid awards will be packaged beginning in November 2019.

Additionally, be sure to check out Scholarship Universe! This is a free tool available to all admitted CSP students to easily apply for multiple scholarship opportunities through a personalized portal. *CSP Network Account needed for login

2. Submit Your Enrollment Deposit

Admitted first-year students are required to submit a $200 enrollment deposit to reserve their place in the entering class as well as start the class registration process. The deposit is applied to your first semester tuition at Concordia and is not a separate fee.

  • or mail a check to Concordia University, Office of Admissions

The deposit is non-refundable after May 1, 2020 for Fall 2020 enrollment; December 1, 2019 for Spring 2020 enrollment.

3. Login to your CSP Network Account

Your CSP Network Account will be created approximately one week after you are admitted. At that time, you will be emailed more information to help you get started (subject line: CSP Network Account Information).

Your network account allows you access to Blackboard (our learning portal) and your CSP email (Gmail) and will be used throughout your time as a Golden Bear.

  • Your username is the first part of your CSP email address (ex. student@csp.edu, username is student)
  • Your 8-digit password is the last four digits of your Concordia ID Number AND your four-digit birth year (ex. If your ID number was L00001234 and your birth year was 2000, your password would be 12342000)
4. Review Housing Information - On or Off Campus

Students Living On Campus

To be placed in an on campus residence hall, please complete and submit the housing application.  First-year students must also submit the $200 enrollment deposit in order to be granted a housing assignment.  The housing application will not be processed without payment.

  • Spring 2020 Applicants: Complete the Housing Application
  • Fall 2020 Applicants: Housing information for the 2020-2021 academic year will be sent to you in Spring 2020

Students Living Off Campus

First-year students are required to live on campus unless living at home with a parent or guardian.  If you meet this criteria you must submit the Petition to Live Off Campus in lieu of the housing application.

Students Requiring Housing Accommodations

Students requiring any accommodations should complete the housing accommodation form and contact Student Accessibility Services at sas@csp.edu as soon as possible when applying for housing.

The deadline for accommodation requests is May 1 for fall term and December 1 for spring term.

5. Submit the Immunization Form

Minnesota State law requires proof of immunization. You will not be allowed to enroll until the online form has been submitted.

Please note: Immunizations submitted in any format other than the online form cannot be accepted

6. Review our Online Orientation

As you prepare to arrive on campus, we wanted to introduce a new resource for incoming students – our Online Orientation!

We encourage you to review this helpful information at your own pace.  Once you complete it, you can refer back to it anytime.

Admitted Transfer Students: Next Steps

3. Register for Classes

Please email our Academic Advising office at advising@csp.edu to schedule a time to get registered for classes. Please provide them with the following information:

  1. Your major
  2. Three specific appointment day/time preferences (office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm)
  3. Your appointment type preference (e.g. phone or in person)

Course Registration Tools

Your Degree Audit* will allow you to view your current degree plan, how your credits transferred in, and courses to register for. Your degree audit will be accurately updated two weeks after you have been admitted to CSP.

4. Review Housing Information

5. Register for Spring Semester Admitted Student Day

Admitted Student Day for new students enrolling in Spring (January) 2020 will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020.  More information will be provided soon!

If you are enrolling for Fall 2020, you will be sent information about Admitted Student Day in the spring.

6. Review our Online Orientation

8. Submit Final Official Transcript

Your final official transcript showing any courses that may have been in progress at the time of acceptance must be sent to Concordia to complete your admission file.

To be considered official, transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the institution or through secured electronic delivery to admissions@csp.edu.

Additional Information

Now that you’re becoming a Golden Bear, here is some additional information we encourage you to review and act upon as necessary.

Register for a Parking Permit

If you plan to park on campus or commute to your classes, you must register any vehicles with CSP Security.  Once you register your vehicle(s), you will be able to pick up a parking permit from our Security office during the first week of classes.

Purchase a Bus Pass

Concordia participates in the College Pass program through the Twin Cities Metro Transit.

Bus passes cost $165 per semester and are valid for use on the following dates:

  • Fall semester: August 15 – December 31
  • Spring semester: January 1 – May 31
  • Summer: June 1 – August 14

Passes can be purchased at our cashier window on campus once they become available.  Fall semester passes will be available for purchase in August 2019.

Set Up Direct Deposit

All students are asked to set up direct deposit upon enrollment at CSP.  Direct deposit is necessary for student employment payroll, student refunds, or any other reimbursements.

Please set up your direct deposit before the first day of classes.

  1. Login to Blackboard
  2. Select the Employee tab
  3. Under “Details of Employment”, select “Direct Deposit Information”
  4. Click on “Add New Direct Deposit”
  5. Input your 9-digit Bank Routing Number
    • Your routing number identifies your financial institution
    • The routing number is typically the first nine numbers on your check
  6. Input your Account Number
  7. Select the appropriate Account Type (checking account or savings account)
  8. Select the Submit button
  9. Review the terms and select the Agree button
Technology Information

Concordia is one of the first universities to partner with Microsoft to license Microsoft Office for all students. This software will be available at no cost to students and the license allows installation on up to five devices owned by the student.  Learn more here!
