Erv Weinkauf Biography
After launching his career with the Brown County Sheriff’s office, Erv Weinkauf proudly served for 35 years with the New Ulm Police Department, working his way up through the ranks from patrol officer to chief of police, a post he held until his retirement in 2009. Before joining Concordia, he served as an adjunct professor at several higher education institutions as well as the Minnesota Chiefs’ CLEO and Command and Leadership Academies.
Weinkauf is living proof of Concordia University’s expertise in making higher education attainable for working adults. He completed his master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership in 2008 and began teaching at Concordia an adjunct professor. He was named chair of the Criminal Justice department in 2010, where his extensive field experience along with his personal understanding of the needs of adult learners make him a valuable asset to both instructors and students.
