Concordia Adding Diversity Center on Campus

As Concordia University, St. Paul approaches the celebration of its 125th anniversary as an institution of learning, part of its history to be acknowledged is the diverse population it has served since its inception.

Beginning as a school that prepared males for ministry, then transitioning to a coed institution, Concordia has now become a leading university that provides exceptional opportunities for students from all backgrounds, cultures and experiences.  In many cases, the increase in the ethnicity, gender, religion, abilities and nationalization of students has more than doubled or tripled over the past few decades.

Concordia’s new Diversity Center, currently under construction across from Tier Zero in the Tunnel, will create opportunities to celebrate the commitment, value and benefits of having such a diverse and inclusive campus community and environment.

“The center will be a welcoming space for all students, staff and faculty to learn from each other and to share their heritage, interests and perspectives,” said Dr. Cheryl Chatman, Executive Vice President and Dean of Diversity at CSP.

Diversity Center Features:
  • Director’s office
  • Lounge Space
  • Meeting Space
  • Student Worker/Intern Space
