Concordia Mourns the Loss of Darlene (Osladil, ’55) Johnson

Concordia University, St. Paul joins family, friends and colleagues to mourn the loss of Darlene (Osladil, ’55) Johnson. Darlene began attending Concordia as part of the first academic class of female students and later would serve Concordia as a three-term member of the Board of Regents.

Concordia President Tom Ries praised Darlene for her years of service with the university.

“Darlene is a legend at Concordia University, St. Paul and we are grateful for the three terms that she served on the Board of Regents. She has left a legacy of service to God and humanity and her presence will be greatly missed.” President Ries said.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 30, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel in Plymouth. (15800 37th Avenue). Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31 at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plymouth (5005 Northwest Blvd).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Concordia University, St. Paul, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, or Eternal Hope Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park.
