Concordia Student Awarded $3,000 Scholarship to Study Abroad

Freshman biology student Anthony Herr has been awarded a $3,000 scholarship to study abroad in South Korea next academic year as part of the newly established Horton Global Scholars Program.

Horton, Inc., an engine cooling manufacturing company located in Roseville, donated money to the Minnesota Private College Fund for a scholarship supporting students studying business or in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Each of the 17 institutions that make up the Minnesota Private College Council (MPCC), including Concordia St. Paul, will award the scholarship annually for three years.

The scholarship is aimed at students who may not be planning on studying abroad because of financial barriers, or who have first-generation student status, but would greatly benefit from the global experience.
