Mainhia (1)Concordia University senior English major Mainhia Moua has been selected to serve as in intern for a summer seminar focusing on the fifth-century Greek historian Herodotus, who is often referred to as the “Father of History”. Co-sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS), the seminar is designed for higher education faculty members in all fields.

Part of her responsibilities will include assembling seminar materials, assisting with logistical arrangements, and processing videos and podcasts.

“I’m excited to work with faculty members from universities from around the nation because one day I also hope to be in their shoes as a college professor,” Moua said about her internship opportunity. “I also hope to learn more about ancient Greek literature and how it can apply to my studies today as an English major.”

CSP department of English and modern languages chair Dr. Debra Beilke will also attend the event as one of 18 faculty selected to participate in the Histories of Herodotus Seminar. Dr. Beilke nominated Moua for the internship.
