Program Chair, Trauma and Resilience in Educational Settings


Professor Mandy Weinkauf is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has been a Licensed School Social Worker for the past 16 years. She has served as a Trauma Coach, General Education, and Special Education School Social Worker. Her time as an educator has spanned K-12 settings, public and public charter, in both urban and suburban communities. She has spent the majority of her time supporting students and families who receive Special Education services. Many of those years focused on program leadership within Federal Setting 3, Emotional/Behavioral Disorder programs. Prior to working as an educator, she provided school-based violence prevention services to students grades 6-12, and worked with girls who were involved in the criminal justice system. She serves as a Clinical Supervisor for postgraduate Social Workers who are working toward their clinical licensure. In all of her professional work, trauma and its impact have been a consistent presence in the lives of students, families, and colleagues. Her areas of academic focus include: Trauma and Its Impact, Trauma-Informed Schools, Restorative Practices, Equity and Anti-Racism.
