From Mathematics to Architecture: CSP Alum Earns Recognition for Graduate Work

Bryce Sievers, a Concordia University, St. Paul mathematics alum, is making an impact beyond his undergraduate studies. While pursuing graduate studies at Iowa State University, Sievers was selected as Iowa State’s graduate student recipient for the 2026 Edward Allen Student Award from the Building Technology Educators’ Society.

The award recognizes students for excellence in integrating building technology and architectural design. Sievers was recognized for his Fall 2025 graduate architecture project, Raising Voices, completed as part of ARCH 6030 at Iowa State.

His achievement highlights the versatility of a mathematics degree and the analytical thinking, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills students can carry into graduate study and a variety of professional fields.
