CSP’s Security Department is committed to providing a safe campus environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors 24/7, 365. Trained officers provide response to emergency and non-emergency calls, patrol campus, offer a safety escort service, and enforce parking rules.

Parking On Campus

Parking Permit Registration

Register your vehicle either in person or online. For online registration, gather the following details and click the link below. After completing registration, visit the Security Office with a photo ID to collect your permit:

  • Name, phone number, and address
  • Student or faculty/staff ID number
  • Vehicle make, model, VIN, and license plate

  • Free! Parking on campus is at no cost to students, faculty, and staff.

  • Please place your parking permit sticker on the back of your rearview mirror inside your vehicle.

  • Yes, all students are required to renew their parking permit annually. Staff and faculty are not required to renew their permits.

  • Students can park in any of the six campus lots or surrounding street parking spaces. Lots A and B are the only two lots reserved for staff and faculty only.

  • We encourage everyone to sign up via email or text to receive Saint Paul Snow Emergency alerts (available in English, Spanish, Hmong, and Somali). Special parking rules go into effect during this time.

ID & Photo Form

Admitted students should use this secure form to request an ID card and/or upload a photo for their CSP student record. Students may also use this form to update their photo on file.

Printed ID cards are required for on-campus students. They are available and encouraged for online students.

  • Identification cards are issued when you enroll at Concordia University, St. Paul/CSP Global. This card serves as your official ID when on campus, and you may be asked to show it in various locations. Your card will include your photo and CSP ID number (L#).

    Your ID card provides access to (St. Paul campus only):

    • Various rooms and spaces across campus
    • Dining Hall services – Flex Points
    • Library services
    • Printers
    • University athletics, student events, and productions

    Your ID may also be used to receive discounts and special offers in the community.

  • Any new or updated photo must follow these guidelines:

    • Photo must show a clear view of your face
    • Photo must be in color (not black & white)
    • Photo should have a blank background
    • Photos should not be group photos or cropped down from a group photo
    • Photos cannot include: hats, sunglasses, derogatory subject matter
  • Students

    On-Campus Students: St. Paul, MN Location

    • Upon completion of the ID request form Card Services will begin the process to create your ID*.
    • You will receive an email confirmation when your ID is ready to be picked up.
    • Please come to the Security Office in Meyer Hall 124 to pick up your ID.

    *You will not receive your ID until after the start of your first semester.

    On-Campus Students: Denver, CO Location

    • Upon completion of the ID request form Card Services will begin the process to create your ID*.
    • You will receive an email confirmation once your ID has been printed.
    • Your ID will be mailed to the Denver Campus when it is available.

    *You will not receive your ID until after the start of your first semester.

    On-Campus Students: Portland, OR Location

    • Upon completion of the ID request form Card Services will begin the process to create your ID*.
    • You will receive an email confirmation once your ID has been printed.
    • Your ID will be mailed to the current mailing address in your student record. (U.S. addresses only)

    New Employees

    • Please submit a photo to Card Services for your Faculty/Staff ID via email.
    • Reach out to your supervisor to make sure they submit a Card and Key Request Form for your access needs.
    • You will receive an email confirmation once your ID is ready for pickup.

    Supervisors

  • Lost or Stolen Cards

    To replace your lost or stolen card:

    1. Submit the ID Request Form
    2. Pay the $10 replacement fee
    3. Forward your receipt to [email protected]

    Faculty and Staff IDs will be replaced for free and do not require the $10 replacement fee.

    Damaged Cards

    Damaged or worn out cards will be replaced free of charge.

    2. Pay the $10 replacement fee

  • Alta OpenApp (Optional / St Paul Campus Only)

    The Alta Open app allows access into campus spaces through your mobile device. If you are interested in this option, please email [email protected]. Be sure to include your CSP email address.

    You may find and download the Alta Open App from your mobile device’s app store.

    Faculty and Staff who do not want to use their mobile device may request a proximity card. Contact [email protected] for more information.

    Academic or Extracurricular Space Access

    If you need access to a specialized or restricted area, please ensure your Professor, Coach, or Supervisor updates the correct access list to grant their permission for you to be in those spaces.

    Access Issues

    If you are having any issues with your ID, a door card reader not granting access into a space you have permission for, or your ID not working for Dining Hall Services, please reach out to [email protected] for assistance.

Safety Forms

  • The Security Department provides a safety escort service for students, faculty, staff, and university guests. This escort service has been established to act as a watch guard of personal safety while on campus or in the immediate neighborhood community. Escorts are designed to create a safer walking environment for individuals of the campus community. Escorts are given 24 hours a day and are performed by a uniformed Security Officer who is in radio contact with a dispatcher.

  • Silent Witness Report

    This form is designed to allow individuals to report incidents they are aware of and remain anonymous if they so choose.

  • This form is designated to allow students to report issues and concerns that they are aware of pertaining to safety and security and remain anonymous if they so choose. By submitting the form below, the Director of Safety & Security will be made aware of your issues and concerns and will take immediate action.

  • Concordia’s annual security report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Concordia University, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.  The report includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.  The report is published on October 1 for the previous year. Hard copies of this report are available in the Security Office, Meyer Hall 124.

    Additionally, as the Clery Act requires, the Concordia University Security Department Maintains a Daily Crime Log. This log contains all crimes that are reported to the Security Department. The up-to-date crime log can be viewed in the Security office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).
