Jeremiah Schimp, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Psychology

Dr. Jeremiah Schimp is an assistant professor of psychology in the Department of Social Sciences at Concordia University, St. Paul. He has been teaching for Concordia University, St. Paul as a Contracted Faculty of Practice (CFP) since 2016 before transitioning to a full-time faculty member in 2022. Dr. Schimp has been working in the mental health field since the mid-2000’s, in both community and residential settings. He holds credentials as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and certifications in addiction, integrative mental health, and trauma. His clinical career has focused on working with adults diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Dr. Schimp primarily teaches Counseling and the Helping Professional, Psychopathology, Personality Theories, and Physiological Psychology in the traditional undergraduate psychology program. When not teaching, you will find him biking, running, hiking, fishing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and spending time with his wife and children.
