Assistant Professor of Christian Ministry, Director: DCE & Pre-Deaconess Programs
Professor Shelly (Schwalm) Schultz, DCE (’10), MFA (’19) is the Director of the DCE (Director of Christian Education) Program, the Pre-Deaconess Program, and Assistant Professor of Christian Ministry. Shelly is an alum of Concordia St. Paul, both from the DCE program, as well as getting her master’s degree in creative writing.
Shelly served in college ministry at CSP for 9 years before moving into a faculty role. She has also served in parish ministry, as well as serving the larger church body of the LCMS as a planner for LCMS Youth Gatherings in 2019, 2022, and 2025. Her roles have included being on the theological advisory team, the Bible study team, and Mass Event host. Shelly is also a song and liturgy writer, treasuring the space for creativity in the Christian faith. She is married to Nathan and they love living in the Twin Cities.
