MS Orthotics & Prosthetics Admissions Process

MSOP Prerequisite Criteria

The MS in Orthotics and Prosthetics program is a partnership between Century College and Concordia University, St. Paul.  Prior to applying to the MS program at CSP, please ensure the following prerequisite steps are complete.

1. Complete O&P Specific Prerequisites

Complete the Clinical Applications Diploma (OPCA1000- and 2000-level coursework) at Century College. If you have not completed these O&P specific prerequisites, please visit Century College’s website for more information.

2. Complete Additional Prerequisite Coursework

Each of the following prerequisite courses must be completed with a C grade (not C-) or better:

  • Biology with lab
  • Chemistry with lab
  • Physics with lab
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology with lab
  • Psychology
  • Statistics

Upon completion of these necessary prerequisite requirements, please submit your application for admission to CSP.

MSOP CSP Admission Requirements

  • Create an account and submit our online application.  Once submitted, you can follow your application process through the application portal (CSP Account).

  • Submit official transcripts from an accreditor that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education stating the conferral of a Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 system.

    *To be considered official, transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the institution or through secured electronic delivery.

  • Submit official transcripts from Century College stating completion of Clinical Applications Diploma (OPCA1000- and 2000-level coursework).

    If you are seeking to complete OPCA 2000 level courses at Century College during your first year of the program please reach out to Katie Voss ([email protected] ) or Roger Wagner ([email protected]) to discuss program expectations and receive a letter of support to submit with your CSP application.

    If you are applying with your OPCA2090 practicum in progress, you will also need to submit this petition form.

  • Submit official transcripts from the regionally accredited institution(s) in which prerequisite courses were completed (if not at your bachelor’s degree institution or Century College).

    Six prerequisite courses with a C grade (not C-) or better:

    • Biology with lab
    • Chemistry with lab
    • Physics with lab
    • Anatomy and Physiology with lab
    • General Psychology
    • Statistics
  • Submit a typed personal statement that addresses the criteria listed below. Statements should:

    • Be labeled with your name, academic program, and your contact information and uploaded to your application portal.
    • Fall between 400 and 1000 words.
    • Include a beginning (introduction), middle (body), and end (summary/conclusion)
    • Be original (no plagiarism) and reflective of the applicant’s experiences and traits. No outside work (citations and references).
    • Contain no spelling, grammar, or sentence structure errors.

    The statement should address the following:

    • Describe your employment history and why you are choosing to pursue a graduate degree at this time in your career.
    • Describe a personal and/or professional goal that you hope you will fulfill through earning your graduate degree.
    • Describe a past or present personal/professional experience that you believe positively influenced your potential to succeed in a graduate program.
