Associate Professor of Practice

A little about my professional background – I’ve earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. My graduate school emphasis was Controls and Robotics.
I worked for many years at a variety of corporations in a variety of fields as a controls and software engineer, where I specialized in simulation and emulation development. The fields I worked in were defense, medical, aviation, and computer animation.
Around 2007, I made a career shift and began teaching. I taught as an adjunct professor (Contracted Faculty of Practice) at several universities before being hired full-time as an Associate Professor of Practice in Computer Science here at Concordia University.
A little about my personal background – My husband, Todd, and I have two children, and we live in the southeastern suburbs of St. Paul. Education is extremely important to our family, and I am proud to say both of my children have earned their Bachelor’s degrees, and my oldest child has completed her Master’s Degree. My father was also a college professor, so I am following in his footsteps.
We enjoy traveling and being active. I enjoy genealogy, photography, gardening, painting, sewing, and many other types of crafting.
