Concordia University head women's soccer coach Joe Alianiello has announced that Lauren Hoof (Maple Grove, Minn.), Savannah Nolen (Oronoco, Minn.), Emily Weimelt (Lakeville, Minn.) and Chloe Weinberg (St. Paul, Minn.) have signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Golden Bear women's soccer program for the 2008 fall season.

Northern State Ends Bears Season 2-0 in NSIC Tournament

Northern State (15-4-2) ended the Golden Bears (5-15-2) season in the quarterfinals of the NSIC tournament Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 win in Aberdeen.

Johnson, Briese Earn All-NSIC Honors

Concordia seniors Hillary Johnson and Krysta Briese have been named to NSIC all-conference teams as voted on by the coaches. Johnson was a first-team selection for the second straight year, while Briese was named to the second-team.

Concordia freshman Kari Janes has been named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and junior Keyton Wheelock has been tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Bears to a pair of 1-0 wins last weekend.

Freshman Kari Janes produced her second consecutive game-winning goal to propel Concordia-St. Paul (5-13-2, 3-6-0 NSIC) to their second 1-0 victory in as many days, this time over Wayne State (1-15-3, 0-9-0 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon at Concordia Field.

Janes Scores Late to Lift Bears to 1-0 Win Over Mustangs

Freshman Kari Janes shot in the 88th minute found the back of the net to give Concordia (4-13-2, 2-6-0 NSIC) a 1-0 win over visiting Southwest Minnesota State (3-12-2, 2-5-1 NSIC) at Concordia field. Sam Voeller and Katie Johnson had the assists on the goal at 87:32.

Upper Iowa Hands Bears 2-1 Loss

The Golden Bears suffered a 2-1 loss on the road against Upper Iowa Sunday afternoon. Nikki Hertel got Concordia on the board first with an eight-yard shot below the Peacock goalie in the 36th minute, off a pass from Taylor Campione.

Last Second Goal Sinks Bears at #12 Winona State in Double Overtime

#12 Winona State (13-3, 501 NSIC) scored in the last second literally as Leslie Schumacher took a shot from Heidi Woerle and readjusted the ball to just inside the back of the right corner at 109:59 in the second overtime to give the Warriors a 1-0 win over Concordia (3-12-2, 1-5 NSIC).

Erin Lemay scored on a corner kick over Concordia keeper Keyton Wheelock in th 48th minute to give the visiting Mary Marauders (9-5 (3-2 NSIC) a 1-0 win over the Bears (3-10-2 (1-3-0 NSIC) in on Parents Day at Concordia Field Saturday.
