Academics, General News, Office of the President, University News

As we mark the end of CSP’s 128th traditional academic year, I praise God for each one of you, our students, faculty, and staff members who made this year a tremendous success despite many challenges. Each one of you displayed incredible resilience and persistence amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our theme for this year, “Lord, to whom shall we go?”, has served our community well. In all situations and circumstances, we look to Jesus for comfort, forgiveness, hope, peace, and salvation. And we’ve extended His love well to one another amidst many tragedies in our community, nation, and world.

Many students, faculty, staff, and alumni call CSP a “family.” How true that label is for us as we seek to be a community that welcomes all and honors Jesus!

I am especially proud of how our on-campus community rallied around Comet’s Commitment, keeping each other safe and healthy amidst the pandemic. I look forward to meeting with and connecting with more of you as we hold more in-person events and gatherings in Portland and St. Paul during the 2021-22 academic year.

Congratulations to our graduates who will walk across the stage or who will be honored virtually this weekend! Welcome to the Concordia St. Paul Alumni Association! I pray God’s blessings for you as you move into your chosen career fields or toward your next academic degree.

May our gracious God keep each one of you safe and healthy as we enjoy the summer months and find times to rest, relax and recreate.

God’s peace,

Rev. Dr. Brian L. Friedrich, BA ‘79
