On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Concordia University Innovation Scholars 2025-2026 team presented their project recommendations to the leadership team of YourSteps Health in Minneapolis, MN, as the culmination of the Innovation Scholars Program. YourSteps Health is a digital health company focused on pediatric rehabilitation with the mission of collaborating across physical, occupational and speech therapists and families between clinic visits to improve outcomes.

Working at the intersection of science, healthcare and entrepreneurship, the multidisciplinary team of four Concordia University students spent four months tackling a challenging healthcare tech transfer project focused on the development of a commercialization plan for the YourSteps platform in the United Kingdom.

Concordia’s 2025-2026 Innovation Scholars team is comprised of Giulia Abreu Proviett Cury ’26 (international business and public relations; minor in intercultural communication), Quinn FierkeLepp ’26 (marketing), Emily Iafrate ’26 (exercise science), and Maya Lavendusky ’26 (biochemistry).  Campus mentors include Sam Haag, Taylor Mach, Renata Mayrhofer, and Mary Ann Yang. The team is led by Augsburg University MBA Jenny Cilasun.

Innovation Scholars is a nationally recognized experiential learning program that engages teams of liberal arts students in the complex processes of translational medicine, taking an idea “from the bench to the bedside.” Real life problems in real time!  Project sponsors include Mayo Clinic, early-stage biomedical and healthcare companies, and NASA.
