CSP Receives State Grant for SEAT Program

The Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) has awarded a $100,000 grant to Concordia St. Paul to support the Southeast Asian Teacher (SEAT) licensure program. The grant is officially called the Collaborative Urban and Greater Minnesota Educators of Color Grant and is funded by the Minnesota legislature.

A previously-awarded grant of $152,300 from the same agency will be used to fund the SEAT program in the 2020/21 academic year and the most recent award will be used in the 2021/22 academic year The SEAT program has been continuously funded by the Minnesota legislature for 21 years, has enrolled nearly 200 students, and currently serves 15 students with several new students expected to begin in September 2020. Dr. Sally Baas is the director of the program at CSP.
