90 Credit Bachelor’s Programs

Concordia University, St. Paul now offers two 90-credit, 3-year bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science and Sport Management. These degrees offer a faster, fully accredited, and cost-effective path to a bachelor’s degree through our Concordia University, St. Paul academic unit.

Students will be able to earn their complete bachelor’s degree in just three years. This will be achieved with a new focused requirement of 90 credits instead of 120 for degree completion. The required coursework will include all major and general education requirements, with a reduction in elective requirements.

Exercise Science BA


CSP’s 90-credit, 3 year bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science prepares students to pursue careers in coaching, fitness, personal training, and rehabilitation, all while gaining a deeper understanding of exercise science and the health and fitness industries.

  • A reduced credit bachelor’s degree is an undergraduate program that requires fewer total credits than a traditional bachelor’s degree. At Concordia University, St. Paul, our Bachelor’s degrees fit this category and require a minimum of 90 credits instead of the standard 120 credits.

  • Yes. This Bachelor’s of Art degree is accredited by the Federal Department of Education, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

  • The 90-credit, 3 year Bachelor’s degrees from CSP and CSP Global are designed for completion in three years, but that timeline can vary, depending on an individual student’s course load, major, and any prior credits (such as AP, IB, or PSEO).

  • Yes. With fewer credits required, students will pay less in tuition and fees to complete their Bachelor’s degree.

  • Students remain eligible for federal and state financial aid, provided they meet credit load and satisfactory academic progress requirements. Advisors will help students understand how annual aid limits for a bachelor’s degree and timelines apply in an accelerated three-year structure.

    This program is not currently eligible for Military Benefits.

  • Yes. This Bachelor’s degree is fully accredited and recognized. Concordia University, St. Paul, collaborated with numerous stakeholders in the program design process, including respected members of the business community. The goal was to emphasize essential skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and ethical reasoning. The reduction in credits is based on fewer elective courses required for graduation. The required core classes for the degree remain unchanged, as do the general education requirements. Business professionals we engaged with during this process responded very favorably to the concept of an 90-credit Bachelor’s degree.

  • The first 90-credit Bachelor’s degree offering at Concordia University will be in Exercise Science, followed by an expected introduction of a 90-credit Bachelor’s in Sport Management. The university plans to roll out additional 3-year Bachelor’s options starting later in 2026.

  • Under most circumstances, double majors would fall under the 120-credit degree paths. If you are exploring double majors, we recommend that students check with their advisor to plan the best path forward.

  • Yes. Concordia University, St. Paul, accepts a wide range of transfer credits, which can help students complete their undergraduate degree even more quickly. This Bachelor’s degree also meets requirements to allow CSP students to pursue most graduate degree offering through CSP Global after they complete their Bachelor’s, but certain CSP Global graduate programs may require additional prerequisites. An academic advisor will be able to help map students to their graduate degree pathways.

    Graduate programs at other institutions may require completion of additional prerequisite courses as part of their admissions processes. Students would need to inquire with those institutions.

  • You can transfer up to 67 previously earned credits from college coursework, associate degrees, technical programs, or military training. Your past credits never expire, so all your hard work counts toward your degree.

  • Yes. Concordia University, St. Paul, is truly a student-centered institution. Students in an 90-credit Bachelor’s program can enjoy the same level of advising and academic support as students in our traditional four-year and CSP Global undergraduate programs.
