ABSN Denver Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission to CSP Global’s BS in Nursing Accelerated track, students should take the following steps:

STEP 2: COMPLETE NURSING PROGRAM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Before beginning the BSN program, students must complete several requirements, including prerequisite coursework, the TEAS exam, and other Nursing program criteria. The academic advising team at CSP Global is available to help create a personalized plan to keep you on track toward meeting these requirements.

Nursing Program Admissions Requirements

  • The following requirements must be met to apply to the Accelerated BS in Nursing program:

    • Acceptance to the Concordia University, St. Paul
    • Submit official transcripts verifying completion of 54 college credits, an associates degree or higher non-nursing degree
    • Cumulative GPA and Cumulative Science GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Applicants not meeting the GPA requirement may submit a petition for review.
    • Successful completion all Nursing prerequisite coursework
    • Submit a TEAS score of 65% or greater (TEAS waived if 3 out of 4 science courses are completed through CSP Global)
    • Demonstrate English language proficiency via examination (if needed)
    • Submit the Nursing Acknowledgment Form
  • Please view the CSP Academic Catalog for current ABSN prerequisite courses, grade and GPA requirement and other related requirements for these courses.

    TEAS Exam

    • Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) must be submitted with a score of 65% or higher.
    • Complete the TEAS exam within one year prior to your application to the Nursing Program (only two attempts allowed per year).
    • Reminder: The TEAS requirement is waived if a student completes 3 of 4 Science prerequisites through CSP (e.g., BIO300, BIO315, BIO316, or CHE105) and minimum science GPA and grades have been met.
    • CSP does not accept the HESI exam in place of TEAS.

    Complete the TEAS Exam Through CSP

    The TEAS Exam is offered through CSP virtually. This is open to anyone to register, including CSP pre-nursing and non-CSP students. Students can also complete the TEAS exam outside of CSP.

    • Registration will close 24 hours prior to the exam.
    • Cost of exam is $100. Applicants will pay upon registration.
    • Applicants will receive an email prior to the exam (12 hours) with a link to log onto for the dry run. Check spam inbox.

Step 3: Apply to the BSN Program

When applying, please ensure you have the following items and have reviewed all program requirements and policies.

  • TEAS Exam Score: The TEAS admission requirement is waived for students who have taken 3 out of the 4 science prerequisite courses at CSP [BIO300, BIO315, BIO316, CHE105] and have earned a science GPA of 3.00 or higher.
  • Unofficial college transcripts: for any in-progress courses or courses taken outside of CSP. You may apply to the Nursing program with courses in progress, as long as they will be completed before the program begins.

  • Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency via examination if (1) English is not their native language, and (2) the applicants have lived in the US fewer than eight years at the time of application. English proficiency may be demonstrated by one or more of the following tests:

NURSING PROGRAM FAQ

  • In the ABSN program, students engage in a variety of learning experiences to master essential nursing skills, including hands-on skills labs at learning sites and clinical experiences that combine simulation and direct patient care. Online courses cover critical topics such as nursing theory, public health policies, and pharmacology, while offering ample support throughout the program.

  • Program start dates include Fall (September), Spring (January), Summer (May).

  • We typically recommend that our students allow themselves the opportunity to focus on their BSN education full time.

  • Clinical learning experiences occur in a variety of healthcare and community-based settings throughout the Denver region.
