The Lord be with You!

Welcome to the Department of Religion and Theology at Concordia University, Saint Paul!  We invite you to join us in the study of theology,  Lutheranism, Hebrew, Greek, and even archaeology. Click the links at the left to learn more.

Join the Hippos Excavation in 2008!The scholars, pastors, and professionals who teach in our department reflect the best of our Lutheran heritage, serve in leadership roles in church and academy, and strive to fulfill Concordia's mission of doing "all in the context of the Christian Gospel."

Our mission statement reads: "The Department of Religion and Theology unfolds the Christian message from the perspective of Lutheran theology amid the diversity of human religious experience."

The department is housed on Concordia's College of Vocation and Ministry and assists the work of the college "to explore the Christian faith from the perspective of Lutheran theology, to educate and to form professional and lay leaders for the church, and to engage the Concordia communities in the discovery of vocation, witness, and service in home, workplace, community, and congregation."
