The following Concordia scholarships are limited to traditional undergraduate students
Concordia University is one of the best values among four-year private, liberal arts universities in the state of Minnesota.
Concordia is proud to offer a wide range of scholarship opportunities to further assist new and current students as well as recognize and reward their individual gifts and talents.
Freshman Academic Scholarship
Merit scholarships are offered to all accepted freshmen and amounts are awarded based on high school academic achievement. Scholarships are automatically awarded upon admission and fall into five categories ($500, $2,000, $5,000, $8,000 or $10,000 annually) depending upon unweighted high school GPA and composite ACT score. These academic scholarships are renewable for three additional years for degree-seeking full time traditional students. The scholarship deadline is May 1st. Transfer Academic Scholarship
Students must provide official college transcripts from all institutions attended and demonstrate a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. Eligible students are automatically awarded one of the following scholarships upon admission: $6,000 Transfer Regents Scholarship, 3.5-4.0 cumulative GPA/$4,000 Transfer Presidents Scholarship, 3.0-3.49 cumulative GPA/$2,000 Transfer University Scholarship, 2.5-2.9 cumulative GPA. A transfer student who receives this award must also attend full-time, be degree-seeking, and have completed a minimum of 20 college-level semester credits prior to entering Concordia. The scholarship deadline is May 1st.

The Concordia Music Scholarship is available to new students enrolled full-time in the traditional undergraduate program. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 are granted to students who participate in music ensembles and take private or group music lessons at Concordia. The scholarship is renewable based on the student’s participation.

The Concordia Theatre Scholarship is available to new students enrolled full-time in the traditional undergraduate program. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 are granted to students who participate in various theatre jobs at Concordia, both on and off stage. The scholarship is renewable based on the student’s participation.

Athletic scholarships are available in all intercollegiate sports offered at Concordia University, St. Paul. Students must be accepted to a degree-seeking undergraduate program at the University and meet NCAA DII eligibility for scholarship consideration. The head coach in each respective sport selects the scholarship recipients and also determines the scholarship amounts.
Twelve Disciples Scholarship
The Twelve Disciples Scholarship is a selective scholarship available to freshmen and transfer students in the traditional undergraduate program who possess high academic achievement, financial need, and a call to pursue full-time church work in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
A competitive scholarship program where one full tuition scholarship and eleven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and renewed annually beginning Fall 2017. Eligible students must also apply for all forms of financial aid by applying for admission to Concordia University and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The one full tuition scholarship will ensure that 100% of tuition is covered less any grants.
Interested students should submit the scholarship application. The priority deadline is January 15th. The final scholarship deadline is May 1st.
Church Worker Assurance Program
The program assures $10,375 in gift aid for new students pursuing a certified Church Professional Program within the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod (LCMS). Any assistance given by the student’s congregation and LCMS district will stack on top of all institutional and need-based gift aid. This scholarship will be part of a student’s financial aid package. Students must be a member of an LCMS congregation and enrolled full time seeking a degree in a recognized Church Professional Program. Annual FAFSA submission is required. Students are to apply to federal and state agencies for financial assistance. Federal, state and institutional grant/scholarships received are considered part of the program. Application deadline is May 1st.
Church Vocation Scholarship
Students enrolled in a certified Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) Church Professional Program are eligible to receive this $1,000 annual scholarship. Any assistance given by the student’s congregation and LCMS district will stack on top of all awarded gift aid. This scholarship will be part of a student’s financial aid package, reducing need-based loans and work-study. Students must be enrolled full time and be degree seeking in a recognized Church Professional Program. Application deadline is May 1st.
Building Opportunity for Leadership Development (BOLD) Scholarship
Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 are awarded to newly accepted students enrolling in the traditional undergraduate programs that have participated in college readiness programs. No scholarship application is necessary and BOLD is awarded in addition to academic scholarships. The scholarship is renewable with satisfactory academic progress.
Lutheran Heritage Scholarship
Awarded to new freshmen and transfer students at $1,000 per academic year (fall and spring entry terms only). Scholarships require no application and are awarded automatically if the student is a member of an LCMS congregation. Students must be degree seeking and attending full time. The scholarship is renewed if students are maintaining satisfactory progress. Scholarship deadline is May 1st.
Transfer Advantage Scholarship
Offered to students pursuing a traditional, undergraduate degree that transfer directly from a Concordia partner institution. Students must successfully complete an associate’s degree or MnTC at a partner school. Eligible students are awarded $2,000 ($1,000 annually) at the time of admission.
Transfer Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Recognizes academically qualified transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa, transferring into the traditional programs with one semester minimum membership in Phi Theta Kappa. Eligible students are awarded $2,000 ($1,000 annually) at the time of admission. A transfer student who receives this award must also attend full-time, be degree-seeking, and provide proof of PTK Membership.
