Next Step: Course Registration

Now that you have been accepted to CSP, you will be able to get registered for your prerequisite course, DMS 100: Introduction to Ultrasound. Additionally, you will be able to register for any other prerequisite courses that you have not completed.

  • First Year Students: Watch your email to be connected with your Academic Advisor, who will assist you with course registration.
  • Transfer Students: Transfer students will receive an evaluation of their transfer courses from their Admissions Counselor within a week of acceptance. Watch your email for next steps and to get connected with your Academic Advisor.

Additional Items After Acceptance

  • Each incoming student must submit a photo to Card Services to be used for their CSP ID.

    ID cards will be available for pickup at Card Services (Meyer Hall 124) during the first week of classes.

  • Minnesota State law requires proof of immunization if you will be attending any class on campus (hybrid courses will also need to complete this form). You will not be allowed to enroll until this form has been submitted.

    Please note: Immunizations submitted in any format other than the online form cannot be accepted.

  • All incoming students receive a math placement score determined by your ACT test results. Students who did not submit test scores due to our test-optional admissions policy must complete our Math Placement Exam.

    Students hoping to change the math placement score determined by their ACT may also take the Math Placement Exam.

    To Access the Math Placement Exam:

    1. Login to Blackboard
    2. Select “Courses” on the left hand side
    3. Click on the Math Placement Exam course
    4. Review the practice materials
    5. Begin the exam when you’re ready

  • To order your books for your first semester:

    1. Go to the CSP Bookstore website
    2. Using your class schedule*, enter in the department code, course #, and section
    3. Click on “Find Materials”
    4. From here, the required course materials for each of your courses will populate

    *To locate your class schedule:

    1. Login to Blackboard
    2. Under the University Links, click on “Student Page – additional links for students”
    3. Click on the “Registration Tools” tab and then select “Class Schedules”
    4. Enter your login information again
    5. Select the applicable semester
    6. Click “Detailed schedule” and “Submit”

    Please note: You can rent or purchase textbooks from other sites as long as it is the correct title and edition. CSP will also price match any lower rates found at Amazon, bn.com and local competitors. Contact the bookstore with any questions – (651) 603-6310.

  • If you plan to park on campus or commute to your classes, you must register any vehicles with CSP Security.

    To register your vehicle(s) online please go to our parking permit registration site.

    Ensure you have the following information available:

    • Your name, phone number and address
    • Your student ID number
    • Your vehicle make, model, VIN number and license plate

    Once you register online, you can pickup your permit from our CSP Security office (Meyer Hall 124) during the first week of classes.

  • Concordia participates in the College Pass program through the Twin Cities Metro Transit.

    Bus passes cost $165 per semester and are valid for use on the following dates:

    • Fall semester: August 15 – December 31
    • Spring semester: January 1 – May 31
    • Summer: June 1 – August 14

    Passes can be purchased at our cashier window on campus once they become available.  Fall semester passes will be available for purchase in August.

Applying to the DMS Program

  • All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to starting any DMS courses other than DMS 100.

  • If you have not already completed the TEAS, this should be completed prior to applying to the DMS program.

    Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) must be submitted with a score of 62% or greater with proficiency in all subject areas. TEAS must have been taken within the previous two years (no more than two attempts per year) to be eligible for submission.

  • Once you have completed DMS100: Introduction to Ultrasound, you can begin the DMS program application process. The application will be emailed to you from the DMS Department once you have determined which track you will be pursuing (Echo or General).

    Applicants are ranked based on cumulative college GPA, prerequisite course grades, and TEAS score.

    • DMS – General program will admit the top 16 students.
    • DMS – Echocardiography will admit the top 10 students.

    An applicant denied admission to the CSP DMS program may reapply once. An applicant denied admission twice should not re-apply to the CSP DMS program as the application will not be reviewed for the third time.

    Application Deadlines:

    • Fall: July 1st
    • Spring: November 1st

    Start Dates:

    • General Sonography Starts: Fall and Spring terms
    • Echo Sonography Start: Fall term

DMS Program Requirements

  • Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency via examination if (1) English is not their native language, and (2) the applicants have lived in the US fewer than eight years at the time of application.

  • All prerequisite courses must have been completed in the past five years with a grade of ‘C’ or higher in order to count toward the DMS program. DMS 100 needs to be passed with a grade of ‘B-‘or higher to be considered. Any courses being transferred from other institutions must be verified as equivalent to CSP’s prerequisite courses. Verify course equivalencies using the Transferology tool. DMS 100 must be completed at Concordia University, St. Paul.

    Each prerequisite course may be repeated in its entirety one time in order to meet the grade and GPA requirements.

    • BIO117: Human Anatomy & Physiology for Sonography
    • PHY112: Introductory Physics for Biological and Health Sciences
    • MAT165: Quantitative Reasoning for Health Care Professionals (prerequisite: Math Placement Level 2 or MAT095)
    • DMS100: Introduction to Ultrasound
    • ENG120: College Writing (prerequisite: English Placement or ENG100)
  • A minimum 2.75 cumulative college-level GPA is required.
