A step-by-step guide for applying to college

So you’re interested in applying to college, but aren’t sure how? CSP’s online application process is quick and easy, just follow the few steps listed below!

Step One: access the online application

Usually, there will be a spot to apply online via your college’s website. Concordia St. Paul’s application can be found here. The application will ask for background and contact information, personal information, and details about your education history. If you have any questions on how to fill out your application, please reach out to an admissions counselor. Bonus: CSP does not have any application fees!

Step Two: submit academic transcripts

Your online application will ask to submit high school transcripts. These help admission officers understand where you stand academically and can help determine potential scholarship awards. Here at CSP, we offer a variety of scholarship opportunities, and your GPA is used to calculate your eligibility and award amount.

If you’re applying before your high school graduation, you can send in unofficial transcripts. Before the first day of classes, you will need to provide your official transcripts, which need to be sealed and submitted via mail or secure electronic delivery such as Parchment, Xello, Naviance, etc. to Concordia. Transfer students should include college transcripts from all institutions attended after graduation in their application. Official, sealed transcripts must be submitted before the first day of classes.

Step Three (optional): submit ACT and SAT test scores

The final step to complete while applying at Concordia St. Paul is submitting your ACT or SAT test score if you fall into one of the required groups of applicants. CSP proudly offers a test-optional admissions policy, meaning that it is generally up to the student’s discretion on whether or not they want to include their ACT or SAT test scores.

However, if you had non-letter grade evaluations, you are still required to submit standardized test scores. Prospective student-athletes are also required to submit test scores in accordance with the NCAA Eligibility Center’s guidelines. To learn more about Concordia’s test-optional policy or to find out if you are required to submit your test scores, click here.

Step Four: get accepted!

Congratulations on applying to Concordia St. Paul! You should receive an email with your admission decision 2-3 business days after your application submission. Once admitted, you will need to complete a few things before the first day of classes, like housing applications and immunization forms. The Golden Bear community awaits you!
