A Message from President Friedrich

event

Office of the President

Our third distinction as a Lutheran, Christ-centered university is that we prepare church workers for ministry in the 21st century. Our location in the Midway district of St. Paul is a dynamic, diverse, and exciting place to live and work. God has brought the nations to the Twin Cities.

Thinking of the Twin Cities brings to mind Revelation 7, where John gives us the vision of “a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

Our students who study in the pre-pastoral, pre-deaconess, Director of Christian Education, Director of Christian Outreach, Director of Parish Music, and Lutheran Classroom Teacher programs learn in and out of the classroom how to apply the Good News of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection to all people, regardless of who they are, where they live, where they’re from, or what languages they speak.

We don’t know what the next 80 years of the century will bring, but we do know that God is in control and his Church will continue to bring the Gospel, the Good News of God’s forgiving love in Jesus Christ,  to bear in the lives of the people through the workers He calls into ministry. And so it is our pleasure to equip these workers for their important work in His harvest field.
