English Instructor at Concordia Preparatory School

Rebecca Beasley earned her B.A. degree in Journalism and Professional Writing from CSP in 2024. Now, Beasley has realized one of her dream professions and is an English Instructor at Concordia Preparatory School. Beasley says that the best part of her job is learning more about her students while helping them grow both academically and spiritually.
Beasley attributes much of her success as an instructor in the classroom to her own experience as a student. “The professors at CSP were amazing resources of knowledge. It has really been such a great experience teaching because of how my professors guided me.” Having had instructors to look up to and learn from has impacted how Beasley views her own students. “I am more aware of how my actions impact them and what small things can be helpful.”
Creating personal connections with professors helped Beasley succeed both in the classroom and in her career. “As much as what was taught in the classroom was important, what really helped me was the one-on-one conversations with professors. That ability to connect with skilled professionals helped me realize where God was leading me and how I can best serve my community.”
Spiritual growth was an important part of Beasley’s journey at CSP. She chose to participate in campus clubs and organizations rooted in faith, specifically the Solus Christus Fellowship. “The Solus Christus Fellows program was the most rewarding thing I did while at CSP. It fed me intellectually, spiritually, and socially all at the same time. It felt like I was really part of an academic community.” Community is important to Beasley, and she says she found it at CSP.
