Second Grade Teacher with Altoona's School District
Vicki Howell graduated with a Bachelor’s in Church Education from Concordia University, St. Paul in 1992. She now works as a second grade teacher for Altoona’s School District.
Howell was able to pursue her career aspirations through the Director of Christian Education program at CSP. “I had dreamed of being a DCE and working at one of our LCMS Camps since I was in 4th grade. I attended CSP because of its DCE program.”
Howell appreciated the networking and career skills she obtained during her time at CSP. “I attended CSP and actually decided to change my degree to Church Elementary Ed after going to volunteer at a local school. I taught in LCMS schools for 9 years, took a break and then went back to teaching. I am in my 11th year. CSP gave me a solid network and skills to succeed. I gained a lot of confidence and made many friends at CSP.”
Howell attained self-confidence and a caring community at CSP. “CSP taught me how to teach everything in a self-contained classroom. It gave me confidence, many friends and memories.”
