Elementary Principal at St. James Public Schools
Liam Dawson earned a master’s degree from CSP in 2019 with an emphasis in Educational Leadership, as well as completed the Education Specialist program. Shortly after earning his degree, Dawson took an elementary principal position at St. James Public School in St. James, Minnesota.
As a working professional already in his field, the skills and education gained from CSP helped propel him further. “CSP helped prepare me for my next phase in the field of education. I graduated with my educational specialist degree in May of 2019 and was named an Elementary Principal that same month, where I continue to serve as principal.”
Dawson says that the expert faculty and well-designed coursework were some of the most valuable resources at CSP. “The professors were not only knowledgeable in their fields, but also deeply committed to providing opportunities for students to grow. Through the courses that I took, I was able to deepen my understanding of educational theory and practice, gain new perspectives on leadership, and develop practical skills that I could apply within my school.”
Dawson was named 2023 Administrator of the Year by the National Association of Gifted Children. According to the NAGC, awards are given to those in the education field “who support the growth and development of all gifted and talented children.”
