Dance

Minor

Overview

Minoring in Dance involves studying the history, theory, science, and technique of dance forms. Focusing on modern dance, jazz, and tap, you’ll explore dance as an art form that integrates the body, the mind and ultimately the spirit through the rigors of both theory and practice as you take 23 credit hours toward a dance minor in conjunction with a different bachelor’s degree major. Focusing on both in-classroom learning and performance opportunities, each semester culminates in a student showcase featuring performances by all dance classes. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our annual dance concert, Spring into Dance, which features a variety of styles including ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, Hmong, jazz, modern, musical theatre, and tap – choreographed by faculty, alumni, and students. Check out our scholarships website to learn more about receiving a theatre scholarship at CSP!
